Indoor Air Quality

  • Is the health of your employees or tenants related to the health of your building?
  • Can you increase the productivity of your workforce through environmental improvements?

The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health has inspected more than 500 buildings in the U.S. In 90% of these inspections, an air-quality problem was identified. Some of these problems were easy to remedy, some were not. However, in an age of constant litigation over the cause of employee or tenant health issues, now is the time to take a proactive role and address health in the work environment.

Symptoms of Poor Indoor Air Quality

  • Respiratory ailments
Eye, nose, throat, fever, or chills
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Itching

Benefits of Good Indoor Air Quality

  • Improved respiratory condition
  • Reduced illness
  • Lower risk of liability
  • Employee appreciation
  • Lower health insurance
  • Reduced absenteeism

The Solution

IAQ Solutions will provide a nationally recognized, expert indoor environmental investigator to make air quality observations, tests, and measurements to identify any possible causes of health problems normally associated with poor indoor air quality.

  • Temperature & humidity:
Wet and dry bulb temperatures are determined using either a Taylor Sling Psychrometer or a digital thermometer. Relative humidity is calculated from this information or measured using an Airguide Hygrometer. Low relative humidity has been reported to exacerbate asthma and increase susceptibility to infectious disease.
  • Carbon dioxide:
Carbon dioxide is measured by means of a Transducer Research, Inc., portable, nondispersive, infrared spectrophotometer, Series 4000 CO2 Analyzer. Carbon dioxide buildup is an indicator of insufficient air exchange. Carbon dioxide is a normal end product of respiration, and levels will increase due to human occupancy if a building is sealed too tightly to allow proper air exchange with the outside and if inadequate conditioned make-up air is not provided.

Breathe cleaner, healthier air.
